Lessons Learned: Insights from My 13+ Years as a Chartered Accountant
My journey in CA has been filled with both triumphs and trials.
Here's myself offering an inside look at my career path and sharing the lessons I've learned along the way!
After enrolling myself in B.Com (Hons.) at Delhi University and initially feeling terrified about managing the rigorous CA course, I was able to overcome the challenges with constant guidance and support. I persevered and passed the foundation level, ultimately securing AIR 31 in the intermediate level, which gave me a boost of confidence and set me on the path to success.
2005 - 2008
Passing the CA exams on my first attempt was a defining moment in my professional journey. Throughout the rigorous process, I relied on my mantra of "Keep going, keep thriving," and it served me well. This achievement laid the foundation for my career as a tax professional and opened up a world of opportunities for me.
2010
My articleship at ASA was a transformative experience that taught me valuable skills and prepared me for a successful career. This period enabled me to transition from a CA student to a CA professional. After qualifying as a CA, I started my professional journey at ASA (2010-2015) in the Tax team, which enhanced not only my technical skills but also my leadership and management skills.
2008 - 2015
Joining EY as a Manager in the Tax & Regulatory team, I faced unseen challenges, built my own space in a competitive environment, and honed my professional skills. Learning from seasoned professionals was invaluable, providing the insights needed for success.
2015 - 2020
Working at ByteDance since 2020, heading Tax operations, has broadened my business perspective and highlighted the value of holistic thinking. Collaborating with a global team, I've gained invaluable insights by considering the business from both technical and big-picture perspectives. This experience has been a crucial asset in my career development.
